Work Experience
Amazon (AWS) - Since Jan/2021 (4.5 years)
Lead UX Designer, Remote (FL)
• I'm a proud member of the Amazon Connect team — a customer experience (CX) solution that enables organizations to set up and manage AI-powered virtual contact centers. Our clients include leading brands such as Starbucks, Intuit, Adobe, Square, Capital One, Santander, Barclays, and many others.
• I currently lead UX and Research efforts for our Workforce Management (WFM) applications, designing intuitive, data-driven solutions that help managers boost agent efficiency and streamline call center operations — with a strong focus on serving financial services organizations. Working backward from customer needs, I conduct on-site visits, lead co-design workshops, and present design strategies to internal stakeholders to ensure we deliver experiences that truly resonate.
• Outside of my day-to-day work, I actively shape the UX culture at Amazon Connect. I’ve introduced research tools, playbooks, and best practices to support our growing team. As a certified UX recruiter, I regularly participate in hiring loops to help bring in top design talent. I also onboard new hires by leading engaging sessions that cover our design system, UX process, recent highlights, and strategic direction — these sessions consistently rank among the top, with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars.
• I completed AWS manager training and took on a people management role for nearly two years. During this time, I practiced mentorship, conducted performance reviews aligned with Amazon’s leadership principles, and helped support the professional growth of designers on my team. This experience strengthened my leadership skills and deepened my commitment to developing talent and scaling impact.
Several of my projects have been showcased at AWS re:Invent by executive leadership, including:
2024 – Amazon Q
2023 – Step-by-Step Guides
2022 – Agent Evaluations
“Thank you for everything youʼve done to bring them to life. Amazing work this year (on BOTH of these re:Invent keynote launches) and all of your other contributions to Amazon Connect and AWS. Iʼm incredibly honored to work with you”
Damon B., Marta’s Manager, AWS
“I had the fortune of working closely with Marta for over 1 year on multiple projects at AWS in the Amazon Connect org. She is one of the most talented designers I have worked with. She is very proactive in doing research with all the stakeholders that she can early on before conceptualizing. She setup collaborative design exercises with executives and peers in a unique way that I had never seen before. She can handle highly technical projects and deliver bar raising designs without losing momentum”
Stephen R., PM, AWS
Safrapay - Oct/2019 - Jan/2021 (1.5 years)
Head of Design, Hybrid (FL)
• Led design and research efforts to develop native and web-based Digital Banking and Merchant Services applications for the Safra National Bank of New York (Safrapay)
• This was a fast-paced and rewarding challenge where I built a small UX team from the ground up and collaborated closely with cross-functional teams — including Legal, Security, Compliance, Development, and Product Management — to deliver both the Mobile and Merchant applications within just six months.
• Introduced collaborative methods such as UX workshops and design sprints to accelerate requirement gathering, identify technical blockers, and boost team productivity.
“Marta is one of the most incredible people I have ever had the pleasure to work with! She has an overwhelming positivity that helps keep her team motivated and brings joy to even the dullest meetings. She is the embodiment of a leader. Marta worked through every project with us, was always there to lend a hand, taught us the value of saying no, and acknowledged every success we had. Marta cultivated
a growth mindset and fought for training programs that helped our team level up. Her door was always open for ideas and she always treated us as people first and coworkers second"
Kat M., Marta’s direct report at Safrapay
UKG - Mar/2016 - Oct/2019 (3.8 years)
UX Manager / Lead UX Designer, Hybrid (FL)
• I led the award-winning design of Human Resources applications, including Workforce Management (WFM), Onboarding, Recruiting, and Rewards.
• In collaboration with two colleagues representing the triad of Design, Business, and Technology, we introduced a new design process called LightStarters.
• The LightStarters methodology was adopted across 15 teams, streamlining cross-functional collaboration and accelerating product delivery by 30%. It also played a key role in our Recruiting product earning its first Gartner Analyst "Delight" feature — ultimately resulting in my receipt of the Innovation and Leadership Award from Great Places to Work in 2019.
“Marta can change the culture of any team she is on. While working together, I experienced the most innovative and collaborative team dynamic I've ever been a part of. Marta also has an eye for the potential in people. Based on my experience working with her, she is always trying to hear from everyone in the room and not just the same people who always want to contribute”

Citrix - Dec/2011 - Dec/2015 (4 years)
Lead UX Designer, Fort Lauderdale, FL
• Promoted to Lead Designer after two years, with a mission to improve the onboarding experience across key verticals including Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Education. I focused on tailoring user journeys to meet the specific workflows, challenges, and expectations unique to each industry.
• Outside of my core role, I created and launched Cubefree — a native mobile app that helped remote workers discover inspiring public workspaces and connect with others to reduce feelings of isolation. From concept to launch on the App Store and Google Play, I wore multiple hats: product strategist, UX researcher, brand designer, and dev manager.
• Building and launching Cubefree was a hands-on masterclass in innovation — transforming a scrappy idea into a real-world product people could discover, use, and love. The app received over 30 media features and was named one of the Best Productivity Apps by Fast Company.
“Innovative and passionate are the words that come to mind when I think about Marta. I was particularly impressed by her drive and unwavering determination to make Cubefree a success by continuously throwing herself into the fires of entrepreneurship within a large organization and come out stronger and more knowledgeable than before. I'm constantly amazed by Marta's ability to keep going no matter how stressful the task and always being ready to tackle the next challenge that comes her way; all the while keeping her cool”
